Status: Secondment until 31 March 2020
Grade: FRS C
Starting salary: £29,244
Salary range for the FRS C grade: £29,244 - £35,107
Closing date: Thursday 07 March 2019 at 23:59 GMT
An opportunity has become available to join the Grenfell Tower Investigation and Review team (GTIRT) in the role of Witness and information support Officer.
You will be responsible for providing administrative support to the programme management team by co-ordinating the witness statement taking process and ensure the Brigade’s information and knowledge is easily discoverable and accessible for the LFB internal investigation with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). This role facilitates the teams access to information (including under Data Protection Law) by providing information relating to the Grenfell Tower Fire.
GTIRT's key objective is to review the Brigade's response to the fire and the actions and decisions taken up until the final stop message was sent at 1345 on 27 June. This is in order to produce a timeline of events which will identify any operational learning points. The Brigade's health and safety investigation into our operations on the night is also part of the scope of GTIRT's work.
This is the biggest investigation ever undertaken by the Brigade and alongside the internal review into our response, GTIRT is supporting the Metropolitan Police investigation into the fire and preparing the Brigade to support the Public Inquiry into the circumstances around the incident.
Further information about the main duties and responsibilities of the role are detailed in the attached job description.
Please ensure you give yourself enough time to complete and submit your application. Late or un-submitted applications will not be accepted.
