The Role

London Fire Brigade is currently recruiting Watch Manager A (Transferee)

To be eligible to apply for this role you must be a substantive watch manager serving as a whole time officer (with a whole time contract) in a UK local authority fire and rescue service who is competent in all elements of the role map including Unit 7 (WM7 – Lead and support people to resolve operational incidents).

Please note that confirmation of competency in all units will be required, along with all other eligibility requirements, if you cannot provide evidence of competence in all units and eligibility, we will be unable to employ you.

Potential vacancies for watch manager will be available in all areas of London. We particularly welcome applications from women and those from the BAME and LGBT communities.

Please note that we are currently in the process of role to rank, which means that should you be successful you will be employed in the rank of sub officer, implementation for this is due mid October 2019. Additional Information

In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) employment checks will be completed by successful candidates, which will include a basic criminal records check. Successful candidate will be required to declare any convictions for offences which are not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and any offer of employment is subject to the LFC receiving a criminal records disclosure which it considers satisfactory. Successful candidates should apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to get a copy of their criminal record and share the original disclosure certificate with the LFC. The check will only show convictions that are not ‘spent’. It will cost the successful candidates £23 (current charge) and usually takes up to 14 days.
