An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Training and Professional Development department, for a Training Systems Manager.
About Training and Professional Development:
The Training and Professional Development department’s core aim is to ensure our people have access to the knowledge, skills and development they need to do their jobs safely, confidently and well. The department comprises of three teams: Training Delivery, Training Assurance and Performance and Improvement.
About the role:
The Training Systems Manager post sits in the Performance and Improvement team. This new post forms a key part of the team, and will drive forward improvements in two main areas:
• Leading a series of projects related to training systems
• Creating, checking and correcting specifications for training course eligibility reports. This is to enable the ICT department to produce and update these reports.
The successful candidate will lead a series of projects to drive through improvements to training systems. To do this effectively, candidates need to be able to employ project management and process improvement tools and techniques, and must have a good understanding of IT systems. A logical and enquiring mind is a must, as are excellent analytical skills.
The Training Systems Manager will also be working closely with the Training Delivery team to create, check and improve specifications for training course eligibility reports. These reports provide our external training provider, Babcock Training, with the information they need to allocate the right staff to training courses, at the right time. Babcock deliver approximately 3,000 training courses every year, training around 27,000 delegates, so accurate eligibility reports are pivotal to successful training delivery.

Assessment Overview
Please address the following criteria:
1.2 Experience of contributing to projects with multiple stakeholders and complex requirements.
1.5 Experience of process review and improvement and an understanding of the ways in which IT applications can be utilised in a training environment.
1.7 Experience of leading and implementing change initiatives in large, complex environments.
2.3 Analytical skills in order to provide effective solutions to complex problems, utilising process improvement and project management tools and techniques as appropriate.
Additional Information
In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), employment checks will be completed for the successful person, which will include a basic criminal records check.
