A fantastic opportunity for a Technical Compliance Manager with a background from FM has arisen at the London Fire Brigade to join LFB Property. To provide the London Fire Brigade (LFB) Property team and wider organisation with a source of expert technical advice, assurance, compliance, approval and due diligence on all building systems and services. To ensure LFB buildings are , functional, efficient and safe. Provide a regulatory and compliance advisory service. Co-ordinate and support regulatory and/or compliance technical change initiatives across LFB, helping to ensure full compliance within agreed regulatory deadlines within accepted project management disciplines.
This role requires you to be a highly effective communicator, to have a real understanding of quality assurance, audit and ability to work to tight deadlines and deliver results. A confident and experienced professional who is driven by the notion of excellence in compliance, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. You will take responsibility for managing the process technical support activities as well as leading the technical team. Keeping up-to-date with legislation, policy, accreditation and programme requirements to ensure these are implemented and understood by our teams.
Qualifications & Experiences:
• Possession of a Degree in a relevant subject, HNC or Building Engineering qualification with supporting experience to allow the individual competences to act as duty holder across multiple systems including but not limited to L8, pressure systems, low voltage electrical systems and lifting equipment (Essential).
• Relevant Health & Safety qualification in NEBOSH or IOSH (Essential).
Previous history of managing and building a compliance function.
• Experience with Financial services / products. ISO 27001 experience (desirable).
• Experienced in a compliance based role. Experience in a tech / online business with high levels of transactions (desirable).
• Some understanding/experience of how payments are regulated in the UK and general familiarity with financial regulations (e.g. FCA handbooks / AML) in general.
• Some experience of GDPR, data-mapping and developing and enforcing data/privacy policies

In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) employment checks will be completed by successful candidates, which will include a basic criminal records check. Successful candidate will be required to declare any convictions for offences which are not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and any offer of employment is subject to the LFC receiving a criminal records disclosure which it considers satisfactory. Successful candidates should apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to get a copy of their criminal record and share the original disclosure certificate with the LFC. The check will only show convictions that are not ‘spent’. It will cost the successful candidates £23 (current charge) and usually takes up to 14 days.
