An opportunity has arisen to join the London Fire Brigade as a Project Manager in the Training Commissioning Team..
It is a busy team and you will be managing a number of projects at any one time, across more than one department. You will need to organise and prioritise your work, develop and implement project plans, make effective and efficient use of resources to achieve agreed project objectives to time.
In the role you will be required to produce accurate minutes from the meetings you will attend. You will be working to tight deadlines and will be able to prioritise your workload, supporting the other project manager when needed.
To be successful you will have experience of leading projects and excellent interpersonal skills in order to develop and maintain positive working relationships at all levels internally, and externally. You will also need to be able to manage conflicting demands ensuring high levels of customer care are met at all times.

Assessment Overview
As part of the online application form, candidates must provide evidence to address the following criteria:
Selection Criteria 1 - Experience of leading multi-departmental projects, managing projects and delivering outcomes on time and to agreed requirements.
Selection Criteria 2 - Experience of organising, planning and prioritising own work and meeting deadlines and targets while working flexibly, with minimal supervision.
Selection Criteria 3 - Effective verbal and written communication skills, in order to chair meetings, negotiate effectively, advise and update senior managers, write statements of requirements, briefing notes and accurately take minutes of meetings.
Selection Criteria 4 - Effective problem solving skills and the ability to mitigate risks and ongoing issues, by presenting a range of solutions and effectively implementing control measures.
Assessment for this role is due to place late-November/early-December 2019. Please be advised that if you are unable to make the scheduled assessment date, we may not be able to make alternative arrangements.
Additional Information
In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) employment checks will be completed by successful candidates, which will include a basic criminal records check. Successful candidate will be required to declare any convictions for offences which are not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and any offer of employment is subject to the LFC receiving a criminal records disclosure which it considers satisfactory. Successful candidates should apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to get a copy of their criminal record and share the original disclosure certificate with the LFC. The check will only show convictions that are not ‘spent’. It will cost the successful candidates £23 (current charge) and usually takes up to 14 days.
