An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Training Commissioning team in the Training and Professional Development department as a TCAP Project Manager.
When a new piece of training needs to be created or existing training changed, a commissioning department (our internal clients) will approach the Training Commissioning team with a training request. As one of four TCAP project managers you will be responsible for managing the process and will work collaboratively with the commissioning department, other stakeholders in the Brigade and our training provider to create new or amend existing training from inception through to pilot, roll out and sign off.
It is a busy team and you will be managing a number of projects at any one time, across more than one department. You will need to organise and prioritise your work, developing and implementing project plans that identify activities and make effective and efficient use of resources to achieve agreed project objectives to time. You will also need to be aware of your colleagues projects to be able to provide support and cover as required.
As a TCAP Project Manager you will be required to produce detailed written work while working to tight deadlines and therefore good communication along with strong prioritisation and organisational skills are essential. Experience of influencing others, providing advice and guidance on policies and procedures to staff at all levels and ensuring a customer focused service is also key.
To be successful you will have experience of leading projects and excellent interpersonal skills in order to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships at all levels internally, and externally with the training provider. You will also need to be able to manage conflicting demands and demonstrate a solutions based approach to dealing with issues ensuring high standards of customer care are met at all times.

Assessment Overview
As part of the online application form, candidates must provide evidence to address the following criteria:
Selection Criteria 1 - Experience of leading multi-departmental project teams, managing projects and delivering outcomes on time and to agreed requirements.
Selection Criteria 2 - Experience of organising, planning and prioritising own work and meeting deadlines and targets while working flexibly,with minimal supervision.
Selection Criteria 3 - Effective verbal and written communication skills, in order to chair meetings, negotiate effectively, advise and update senior managers, write statements of requirements and briefing notes.
Selection Criteria 4 - Effective problem solving skills and the ability to mitigate risks and ongoing issues, by presenting a range of solutions and effectively implementing control measures.

Additional Information
In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) employment checks will be completed by successful candidates, which will include a basic criminal records check. Successful candidate will be required to declare any convictions for offences which are not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and any offer of employment is subject to the LFC receiving a criminal records disclosure which it considers satisfactory. Successful candidates should apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to get a copy of their criminal record and share the original disclosure certificate with the LFC. The check will only show convictions that are not ‘spent’. It will cost the successful candidates £25 (current charge) and usually takes up to 14 days.
