We are looking for a learning & development / talent management professional to join our Talent team. You will report to the Talent Manager and support them and the wider Learning & Professional Development department in the development and delivery of work in the areas of: talent management, succession planning, individual performance management (appraisal) and organisational performance management.
This is a new role and an exciting time to join the department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a real contribution to the team as we develop and embed modern talent management approaches and professional development within the Brigade.
The Talent Management Officer will contribute to day-to-day management, administration and delivery of specific Talent associated projects & services, and department initiatives; act as a point of contact for the Team; identify ways in which work can be delivered more efficiently and with improved service to the customer; assist in the development and maintenance of a delivery plan for talent management and related activities; support the quality assurance of talent and performance management (appraisal) processes; support the analysis on Brigade data, producing reports and recommendations.
You will have:
• Experience of administration and team support; organising, planning and prioritising your own work to meet deadlines and standards
• Experience working as a member of a team and with a range of people
• Awareness of training & professional development and / or talent management and / or organisational development best practice
• Understanding of the importance of being an inclusive organisation that reflects the London we serve
• Experience producing high quality written work and correspondence
• Experience using a range of information technology applications, and in particular Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and MS Teams
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Good numerical and analysis skills
• Good keyboard skills

Candidates will attend an interview and this stage may also include other elements such as a presentation and / or written exercise, based on the requirements of the role. Details and instructions will be confirmed to shortlisted candidates.
Assessment for this role is due to take place Early May. Please be advised that if you are unable to make the scheduled assessment date, we may not be able to make alternative arrangements.
Please note: Should you be shortlisted you may need to be able to conduct an interview over Microsoft Teams (a video conferencing service). You will be asked to provide relevant contact details for that to take place if shortlisted.
Additional Information
In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) employment checks will be completed by successful candidates, which will include a basic criminal records check. Successful candidate will be required to declare any convictions for offences which are not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and any offer of employment is subject to the LFC receiving a criminal records disclosure which it considers satisfactory. Successful candidates should apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to get a copy of their criminal record and share the original disclosure certificate with the LFC. The check will only show convictions that are not ‘spent’. It will cost the successful candidates £23 (current charge) and usually takes up to 14 days.
