An exciting opportunity has arisen to take up a new role with London Fire Brigade’s (LFB) Property Department act as a Strategy & Performance Manager covering the London portfolio. The post holder will use technology and data to deliver a more aligned Property management operating model. The role will involve engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders to drive, champion and influence the successful delivery of evidence and insights to support the vision and wider strategy of LFB. The role includes the scope for the post holder to bring new insights and intelligence through the development of innovative ways of working and tools for the department.

The post holder will need to work effectively with the Property Senior Management Team and with senior teams across LFB and the GLA to develop and implement the department plan and progress the delivery of high-level priorities through governance.

To apply for this role it is important you have worked on strategic programmes and project management skills are essential as you will engage with a diverse range of professional and technical disciplines. It is essential that you can work well under pressure and that you can communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders.

Qualifications / Experience

• Demonstrable experience as a Programme/Project Manager working for a large complex organisation.

• Experience of leading, motivating and managing the performance of support staff and ensuring they are trained and developed accordingly.

• High level analytical research and planning skills and ability to use data to support and inform delivery and strategic developments.

• Experience of budget preparation and financial cost control methods and numerical and analytical skills in order to keep accurate financial records and to produce financial estimates and profiles.

In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) employment checks will be completed by successful candidates, which will include a basic criminal records check. Successful candidate will be required to declare any convictions for offences which are not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and any offer of employment is subject to the LFC receiving a criminal records disclosure which it considers satisfactory. Successful candidates should apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to get a copy of their criminal record and share the original disclosure certificate with the LFC. The check will only show convictions that are not ‘spent’. It will cost the successful candidates £23 (current charge) and usually takes up to 14 days.
