London Fire Brigade’s (LFB) Property Department is seeking to recruit to a new role of Strategy & Performance Manager. This is a diverse and exciting role, involving:

• Engagement with internal and external stakeholders to drive, champion and influence the successful implementation of a performance management framework to support Property department’s vision and the wider strategy of LFB.

• Effective working with the Property Senior Management Team and collaborating with stakeholders across LFB and the GLA family to define, design and deliver solutions in taking forward property focused strategic and department objectives.

Key areas of the role are:

• Ensuring quality data and intelligence across department teams is effectively harnessed and governed to develop new insights.

• Leading continuous improvement and delivery of departmental planning and performance indicators with innovative use of data applications and tools to deliver a range of business solutions and management information essential to the achievement of departmental aims.

• Demonstrating effective leadership and management skills with experience in managing teams and developing capabilities to drive forward key objectives.

• Demonstrating excellent understanding of project management to engage with a diverse range of professional and technical projects and disciplines.

• Supporting the Head of Property Strategy in the delivery of their role.

It is essential that you can work well in busy environments and you communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders. You will have strong communication, networking and relationship building skills, advancing the Brigade’s Transformation Delivery Plan and promoting and embedding its’ values across the department.

Assessment Overview

Stage 1

Assessment for this role is due to take place in late-September 2021. Please be advised that if you are unable to make the scheduled assessment date, we may not be able to make alternative arrangements.

In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) employment checks will be completed by successful candidates, which will include a basic criminal records check. Successful candidate will be required to declare any convictions for offences which are not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and any offer of employment is subject to the LFC receiving a criminal records disclosure which it considers satisfactory. Successful candidates should apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to get a copy of their criminal record and share the original disclosure certificate with the LFC. The check will only show convictions that are not ‘spent’. It will cost the successful candidates £23 (current charge) and usually takes up to 14 days.
