An exciting opportunity has arisen at the London Fire Brigade for a Senior Network Engineer.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Network Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a high level of understanding of our Data, Wireless, Voice, and Security Networking environments. This role ensures the effective operations, deployment, design, and development of systems within our network environment.
You will be responsible for maintaining architectural designs and supporting documentation for the network and work in a business as usual and project based capacity.

Assessment Overview
Stage 1
To apply, please complete the online application, upload a copy of your up-to-date CV and provide evidence to address the following selection criteria:
1. Experience of integrating, managing, and designing within data, wireless, voice and security solutions for large multi-site organisation, preferably in a 24x7x365 industry and based preferably on the networking products used by the Brigade.
2. In-depth demonstrable experience with respect to data, wireless, voice and security solutions within multi-machine/multi-site environments. With a minimum of CCNP or an equivalent level of experience.
3. Excellent technical skills to carry out core-system configuration changes in Enterprise network solutions. A technically high level of understanding of WAN and LAN topologies, Core Switching design, routing protocols and overall TCP/IP networking and common protocols.
4. Demonstrable expert knowledge of common networking architectures; technologies and products including, but not limited to:
• Cisco network devices: 6500/4331 routers, 9200L switches, 9115APs.
• Cisco Nexus 31108.
• Familiarity with traffic analysis products such as: Sniffer, Wireshark.
• Network monitoring tools such as: Solarwinds, Castlerock SNMPc, Cisco Prime Management, FirePower Management Centre (FMC).
• Network authentication tools such as: Cisco ISE, Microsoft AD.
• Wireless products and technologies such as: Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC), Cisco Mobility Services Engine (MSE), Wireless Access Points.
• Cisco ASA 5500-x NGFW product family.
• VLAN management and administration.
• WAN and LAN based technologies, MPLS, OSPF, Ethernet, VLAN, SD-WAN, SDN.
• MS Teams.
• Physical media types: (UTP “Cat5 & 6” and Fibre “up to 10GB”).
• Technologies: Wireless, QoS, VoIP, IP Telephony, SIP.
