The Role

Rescue Recall Responder

Applications are now invited from Firefighters, Crew Managers and Watch Managers who are FRU qualified and currently serving at a Technical Hazmat station, to respond to out of area flood related incidents.

The position would require the successful applicant to be available for recall on days 6 and 7 of their shift cycle and be able to attend rescue based operational training events and exercises.

This post will attract an on call payment of 7.5% of your base salary and additional leave days which can only be used during the on-call period (day 6 & 7).

The operational requirement of the rescue recall responder role means that from time to time working hours and/or working patterns may exceed the limits laid down in the Working Time Regulations 1998. Accordingly, appointees as rescue recall responders are required to agree to opt out of the Working Time Regulations.

Commitment to role:
A minimum 3 year commitment is required for this role. It must be emphasised that being a rescue recall responder is a big commitment and you should assess your own personal and domestic situation realistically to fully appreciate the impact it can place upon you.
