Salary range: £52,242.00 - £67,836.00 per annum plus on call allowance.

The London Resilience Group is seeking a leader who is capable of effecting change working across a range of resilience-based activities with a variety of stakeholders. You will have responsibility for managing a team of highly motivated Resilience Officers that makes a difference to London in the preparation and response to emergencies that affect the capital city. You will also be part of a wider team creating effective and collaborative policies and procedures, requiring the interpersonal skills not only to lead your own team but to inspire confidence from partner agencies too.

You will be used to working with senior stakeholders from a range of agencies from the public, private and voluntary sector and should be able to balance priorities to achieve agreed solutions and outcomes. You must be prepared to enable constructive challenge to the status quo and be prepared to develop new solutions to the challenges posed. This will require excellent interpersonal skills to clearly articulate your reasoning and proposals to a number of different audiences.

The role will require the ability to work under pressure, especially when responding to incidents or emergencies. You will be confident and decisive whilst balancing the needs of your staff, wider responders and the public during high pressure situations.

You will be required to participate in an on-call rota, associated training and exercising and respond to emergencies when they occur. You must be able to respond according to the departmental requirements in place as may be varied from time to time. Typically, you will be required to be on call one week in four. An on-call allowance, currently, £4,477 is paid to staff at this level who are on the on-call rota.

Stage 1

In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) employment checks will be completed by successful candidates, which will include a criminal records check.
