The London Fire Brigade’s vision is to be a world class fire and rescue service. We are the busiest fire and rescue service in the country and one of the largest firefighting and rescue organisations in the world. Our long-standing workforce comprises 4,500 operational and 1,000 non-operational staff.
A unique and trusted organisation, our work has changed over the years with stronger emphasis on fire prevention and community safety as well as responding to fires, terrorist threats and other emergencies. As part of the Greater London Authority family, serving London’s diverse communities and keeping them safe is high profile and politically sensitive.
We are seeking an experienced HR professional to deliver innovative strategies to ensure the Brigade can attract, retain, and develop high calibre candidates. These strategies will serve present and future business needs through the creation and management of diverse talent pools.
Crucially, as the lead for the Brigade’s recruitment and talent strategy, you will work with clients to ensure that talent management plays a key part in our overall resourcing strategy.
Reporting to the Head of Culture Change and Talent, your successful track record, strong influencing skills, creativity and judgement will enable you to play a key role in an organisation that makes a unique contribution to London.
We value the diversity of our employees, and aim to recruit a workforce which reflects our diverse communities across London. The London Fire Commissioner is an Equal Opportunities Employer and we positively welcome applications from all suitably qualified individuals, irrespective of people's age, disability, gender, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation, or other personal circumstances. We have guidance in place to ensure that all applicants are treated fairly and consistently at every stage of the recruitment process, including the consideration of reasonable adjustments for people who have a disability.
