Salary range for the FRS G grade: £59,614 - £74,045 per annum

An opportunity has arisen to join the People Services department as the Head of Advice and Employee Relations based at our Union Street HQ.
The role requires an exceptional individual to lead a team in developing and delivering the Brigade’s advice and employee relations services. Working collaboratively and effectively with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the Brigade the successful candidate will be expected to provide appropriate support, advice, and leadership across a range of policies and procedures which affect the Brigade’s workforce. As the Brigade’s designated Discipline Manager the role requires somebody who makes decisions well under pressure, is able to build and maintain positive working relationships at all levels, and has developed a high level of personal resilience.

Assessment Overview
As part of the online application form, candidates must provide evidence to address the following criteria:
Selection Criteria 1 - A good working knowledge of current employment law and the Brigade’s employment policies and procedures with a proven ability to translate these into clearly understood working practices.
Selection Criteria 2 - A proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within the organisation including recognised representative bodies.
Selection Criteria 3 - A track record of effectively leading and motivating teams to deliver high levels of performance, often against critical time constraints.
Selection Criteria 4 - The ability to contribute to the wider People Services forward programme with a proven ability to develop and deliver programmes of change which have a positive impact on the Brigade’s workforce.
