The Role

Salary range £54,614 to £55,370 plus 20% Flexi-duty allowance

London Fire Brigade is currently recruiting Group Manager Transferees.

Potential vacancies for Group Managers are available in all areas of London.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this role you must be an operational Group Manager serving as a whole time officer in a UK local authority fire and rescue service who is competent.

Please note that confirmation of competency in all units of the national group manager role map will be required, if you do not currently have all units complete we will be unable to employ you.

Please note that the assessment process is sequential – therefore stage 1 must be passed in order to progress to interview.

Stage 1: Your CV and Personal Statement

Please include your current or most recent salary, and the name and contact details of two referees, one of whom must be your current or most recent employer.

Your personal statement evidencing why you wish to transfer to London Fire Brigade and what you can offer to the role. Your statement should not exceed 500 words.

Please note that your CV and personal statement should be saved into a single Word or Pdf document. You will need to upload your document in the CV section of the application form.

Stage 2: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an assessment centre consisting of ; a structured interview and a written exercise, scheduled to be held in Mid to late February 2018.

In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) employment checks will be completed for the successful person, which will include a basic criminal records check. The successful person will be required to declare any convictions for offences which are not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and a Disclosure Scotland Basic Disclosure will be undertaken before an appointment is confirmed.
