An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to support the Finance Team at the London Fire Brigade.

In this role you will be working as part of the Finance Systems team to deliver high levels of systems administration support to the existing finance system and contributing to the implementation of a new finance and procurement system which is currently being commissioned.

Key duties include:

• Day to day system administration for the core finance system and associated applications

• Investigating and monitoring system jobs, investigating failures and rectifying problems promptly to minimise disruption to the finance system processing. Documenting and reporting system faults to the appropriate level where necessary and following up on outcomes.

• Providing routine and ad-hoc financial information and ensuring it reconciles to the core system.

• Updating existing process documentation and user guides and producing system process documentation for areas not already documented.

• Reviewing controls and procedures, as part of the continuing development of the Finance Systems and to support system upgrades/migrations or replacements.

• Contributing to corporate and departmental projects and responsibility for delivering outcomes on specific individual projects within agreed timescales.

You will be:

• Experienced in providing system administration and support for a finance system.

• Proficient in documenting processes and providing training for existing and new systems.

• Able to project manage and have good organisational skills in order to manage workloads, respond to priorities and to ensure deadlines are met.

• An analyser of financial and systems data with report writing and excel skills.

Stage 1
