An opportunity has arisen to join the Brigade’s Communications Department as Events Manager on a fixed-term basis. The post-holder will be responsible for managing the smooth delivery of a varied events programme, which includes six long service award ceremonies, LFB Managers conference, Online Conference and fundraising events.
Reporting to the Events Team Manager, we are looking for someone with event management experience to join LFB’s event team and assist with the delivery of our corporate events programme. The post-holder will be responsible for initial planning through to on-site delivery for a range of events, including long service awards ceremonies (at City Hall) and an exciting new program of fundraising events. They will also play a part in the delivery of LFB’s annual conference for senior managers.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about events, enthusiastic and able to hit the ground running - they will need to be able to pick up an event brief with confidence. The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills – we work with a wide range of people across the organisation from the London Fire Commissioner and directors through to station-based firefighters.

In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) employment checks will be completed by successful candidates, which will include a basic criminal records check. Successful candidate will be required to declare any convictions for offences which are not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and any offer of employment is subject to the LFC receiving a criminal records disclosure which it considers satisfactory. Successful candidates should apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to get a copy of their criminal record and share the original disclosure certificate with the LFC. The check will only show convictions that are not ‘spent’. It will cost the successful candidates £23 (current charge) and usually takes up to 14 days.
