An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a 2-year grant funded project. The Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Houseboat Research Project Officer is initially a 1-year post but following an evaluation process, may be extended for a further 1-year period.
In this role, you will report to the CS Senior Development Officer responsible for the project and will sit within the Community Safety Policy and Projects (CSPP) team. The CSPP team is part of the Fire Safety Department and is based at LFB Headquarters, Union Street though travel out to participating stations will be required, when needed.
The project will deliver tailored Home Fire Safety Visits (HFSVs) to houseboat residents by crews from 33 fire stations in 16 boroughs. The loggers will record CO levels present over a set period of time and the raw data will be collected by an external partner, and once interrogated, sent to LFB. You will be responsible for coordinating and analysing data collected by both the loggers and by crews during the course of the visit. You will also be required to compile regular reports using this data for distribution both internally and externally, including to the grant providers.
You will also be responsible for stock control of the resources required for the smooth running of the project. This will involve regular and consistent contact and visits with the participating fire stations and the Area teams.
