The Role
Babcock International are seeking enthusiastic, committed serving firefighters to fill trainer vacancies which are available now. Applications are invited from competent firefighters, and crew & watch managers (both competent or in development).
Babcock will be providing training to seconded staff to develop their skill sets and support them to work towards becoming specialists across a range of competencies. Babcock will provide opportunities for attainment of technical skills together with accredited adult learning and assessor qualifications. Babcock is seeking applicants who are committed to attaining these qualifications and are prepared to provide evidence of their personal development journey.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in new developments around training provision to LFB staff and to contribute towards innovative training solutions. The current vacancies are in the following teams:
Firefighter Development
Breathing Apparatus
Incident Command
Transport training
USART
Technical rescue
Core Skills
NB: Babcock is seeking full time secondees in all of the above competencies.
The plan is to align training delivery to operational activity. To achieve this we will need to ensure that our workforce is flexible, therefore successful applicants are expected to work flexibly (42 hours per week). This may include evening and weekend working across different training venues throughout Greater London.
Full time secondment applicants should be aware this is a two year secondment and you will lose your base posting in accepting this position following a successful probation of 28 days.
