An exciting Fixed Term opportunity has arisen to join the Establishment and Performance Team which is based at Stratford Fire Station.
The position is a generic post and the post holder will be expected to be flexible and able to cover any of the posts within the department, these duties include maintaining senior officer availability, determining and arranging requirements for pre-arranged overtime, balancing skills and establishment across our fire stations, maintaining trade union and health and safety facilities, dealing with Strategic Resource and PROP, liaising with our training assurance department and carrying out checks and balances of training provided by our provider.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working to deadlines, able to communicate effectively as there will be a need to talk to staff at all levels and deal with telephone enquiries. A thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Excel will be an advantage as would experience of using Microsoft Excel. You will need to be flexible and the working day will be arranged between 0800 and 1700hrs, with the expectation to work from the Stratford office a minimum of two days a week. We have two posts, the first is available immediately and the second will be available from June (covering maternity leave).

There may a possibility that the fixed term contracts may be extended or become permanent.

Assessment Overview

Stage 1

1. Experience of organising, planning and prioritising own work and that of others, meeting deadlines and targets while working flexibly within a team.

2. Experience of using a range of software applications and packages together with good keyboard skills and an understanding of how IT systems can be utilised in relation to the duties of the post.

3. Experience of working with figures, preparing and interpreting statistical and financial information.

4.Experience of liaising effectively and confidently with staff at all levels.
