An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Administration Assistant to be a key part of our dedicated team, working in a professional, and friendly environment, with training and development opportunities and great benefits
The London Fire Brigade has a responsibility to provide an efficient and effective customer care service through its reception, switchboard and paging facilities when contacted by the public and internal staff for non-emergency purposes.
We are currently recruiting for a full time Administration Assistant to join our vibrant, successful and passionate team at LFB London Operations Centre in Merton. In this outward-facing key role you will provide an excellent service liaising with staff and visitors, either face to face or over the telephone using a computerised switchboard. You will carry out a range of administration duties including responding to emails, producing documents for meetings and assisting with the facilities management of the London Operations Centre
To succeed you will have the experience of dealing with members of the public along with working on a computerised switchboard, possessing good keyboard skills. You will maintain a high standard of customer care practice at all times, and will have excellent oral and written communication skills. Additionally, you will be well organised and will be able to work flexibly in a team

Assessment Overview
Stage 1
Online application. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to stage 2.
As part of the online application form, candidates must provide evidence to address the following criteria:
Selection Criteria 1 - Experience of organising, planning, and prioritising work and ensuring that deadlines are met.
Selection Criteria 2 – Experience of liaising effectively and appropriately with staff at all levels and demonstrating good customer care practice
Selection Criteria 3 - Experience of using a range of IT applications and office systems both manual and computerised.
Selection Criteria 4 - Knowledge of the reasons for having an equalities policy, why it needs to be observed in all areas of work, and a good understanding of appropriate behaviour.
