1. Introduction

1.1    By submitting personal information on this website you consent to London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (the body responsible for London Fire Brigade) (the "Authority") using your personal information for  the purposes of:

  • Identifying job seekers who may be interested in particular roles by sending them alerts
  • Assessing applicants' suitability for a vacancy that has been advertised
  • Contacting applicants about the progress of their application
  • Obtaining references from previous employers
  • Producing statistics on the applications for posts advertised by the Authority.

1.2    The Authority is the data controller for all personal data that is entered via this website. The Authority will treat all personal data entered via the website in accordance with UK data protection legislation.

1.3    Tribal Group plc ('Tribal') has been appointed by the Authority as the data processor. Tribal is responsible for the storage of all personal data that is collected via this website. More information about Tribal can be found at: http://www.tribalgroup.com

2.    Access to applicants' details

2.1 Some or all of your application details may be seen by all those involved in the recruitment to the post for which you are applying who include :

  • the Authority's recruitment team
  • the shortlisting panel
  • the interview panel
  • and if you are successful, the human resources and payroll team .

2.3    The shortlisting panel may have access to all of your application details with the exception of your name, address, ethnic origin, age, disability and gender.

2.4    The interview panel may have access to all application details for shortlisted applicants with the exception of their ethnic origin, age, disability and gender.

2.5    An applicant's ethnic origin, age (except where a minimum age requirement exists for that role), disability and gender will only be used to monitor equal opportunities compliance.

2.6    For some posts, the Authority may use a third party to carry out assessment tests. If a third party is being used, applicants will be directed to an alternative website or will be introduced to the third party organisation as part of an assessment day. The only data provided to a third party organisation will be the applicant's name and email address.  Applicants' addresses, dates of birth, ethnic origins and genders will not be accessible by third parties.

3.    Data storage

3.1    Your personal data  may be stored by the Authority for as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in paragraph 1 above.

3.2    You may request the Authority to modify or update your personal data and you may request in writing that the Authority to confirm what information we hold about you at any time.  Although the Authority is able to make a charge, an administration fee is currently not charged for this. 

3.3    The Authority reserves the right to contact job seekers who have not logged in for several months to ask them to update their details.

4.    Data sharing

4.1    With the exception of any third party referred to in paragraphs 1.3 and 2.6, the Authority will not share any of your personal data with any other third parties for any purpose.

5.    Cookies

5.1    Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. This information is used to track visitor use of the website and to compile statistics on website activity. For further information visit www.aboutcookies.org
