Post: Respiratory Protective Equipment Project Assistant Manager
Grade: FRS E
Starting salary: £36,829
Salary range for the FRS E grade: £36,829 - £43,992
Secondment opportunity for the role of RPE Replacement Project Assistant Manager (initially 12 months).
Eligibility - Uniformed officers up to and including substantive or temporary Station Managers and all FRS staff. Please note that if you are a uniformed officer who is not at SM level, we can only act you up one rank and provide you with an SRA. For FRS staff, this secondment will be at FRS E level.
Applicants require a detailed level of knowledge of all aspects of project management and have experience in working with and briefing senior managers at both working group and board level.
The functions of this role will include:
• Scheduling meetings with prospective tenderers, internal and external stakeholders
• Writing timelines
• Managing scope
• Working to identified milestones
• Monitoring and controlling risks and issues
• Compiling agendas
• Drafting minutes
• Planning equipment trials
• Due diligence
• Deputising for the project manager
• Reporting to the project manager
Skills and experience required;
o Experience in project management (Prince 2 project management practitioner’s course would be favoured)
o Applicants who can demonstrate a good understanding of LFB’s requirements in terms of RPE equipment and associated training requirements as well as understanding the language around RPE.

Assessment Overview
The selection process for the role will be conducted in 2 stages:
Stage 1 - Application and declaration of relevant qualifications.

Stage 2 - Interview.
A timed interview designed to provide an opportunity for candidates to respond to questions based on their statements submitted and also talk about their previous experiences. These will take place at LFB Headquarters in Union Street in September 2018.
