I have registered and I am still waiting for my activation code. Is this due to the number of applicants you have received?

If you are having trouble receiving your activation code we advise you to check your filters and spam junk mail. The system is working but it may be that your settings are preventing you from receiving emails. If you are still having problems you should contact your internet service provider.

Do you accept CVs or speculative applications?

Unfortunately we do not accept CVs or speculative application forms as part of the recruitment process. When a vacancy is advertised the application form for that role will be available to complete online.

Can you keep my old application on record for any future vacancies that may arise?

We do not keep any previous application forms on record as the requirements/criteria for vacancies will differ. However, you can sign up for vacancy alerts via the website.

Can I apply for a vacancy if I live overseas?

We welcome applications from overseas candidates. However you will need to be able to obtain eligibility to work in the UK for your application to be progressed. If shortlisted you would be required to attend an interview at one of our offices based in London. Regrettably, travel expenses cannot be paid.

I have a specific question about a vacancy I have applied for; who should I contact?

What is the starting salary for fire and rescue service staff?

The starting salaries for fire and rescue service staff are dependent on the grade of the vacancy. Please refer to the advertisement of the vacancy you are interested in applying for.

I cannot make the interview/assessment date, will it be rescheduled?

We do try to accommodate candidates who cannot make the scheduled assessment date. However rearranging assessment is dependent on many factors (such as resources and panel availability) and therefore we cannot always guarantee to be able to offer an alternative.
